There comes a moment when yesterday draws so near that the bright hours seem just passed and the laughter of loved ones still rings in the ear. In that same instant, the person in the mirror understands how far they have traveled from who they were. Time is at once the ferment of our joys and the slow poison that finishes every life; no one is exempt.
This work is dedicated to Carlo Scarpa.

Presentation Model
The main body is produced with nylon selective laser sintering (SLS) 3D printing, while the site paving/ground plane is made by laser-cut clear acrylic and basswood.
"The Void Frame"
Carlo Scarpa treats the edge as if he were making the frame of a classical oil painting, a quality displayed to consummate effect in the Tomba Brion. His practice of seeking perfect fit between disparate materials is manifest in the restoration of the Museo Civico di Castelvecchio.
I experimented with brass, black marble, concrete, and water to evoke this distinctive spirit of place—one that reveals refinement within the raw and rationality within the sensual.
"The Void Tower"
As in many of Carlo Scarpa’s works, certain material presences need not be utilitarian; they serve instead as cues that awaken thought and imagination.
I want this tower to read more as a monument, letting rain and dust inscribe a dull patina on its pitted surface—so that time speaks in the quietest, least-disturbed way.
Courtyard
Sculpture pedestals of different heights provide flexible display options for many exceptional exhibits. A classic example is Carlo Scarpa’s pedestal for the "Equestrian Statue of Cangrande I della Scala" at the Museo Civico di Castelvecchio.
In the design of this courtyard pedestal, I introduced a two-tier water feature across different levels, hoping that the moving medium and the drifting play of light would enliven the otherwise dark and solemn atmosphere.
